How does proximity to the St. Croix River affect tree health in Afton?

High humidity and moisture levels in the valley can increase the prevalence of fungal diseases such as anthracnose and bur oak blight. Proper plant health care and strategic pruning help improve airflow through the canopy, thereby minimizing these risks.

When is the best time to prune oak trees in this area?

To prevent the spread of oak wilt, which is a significant concern in Washington County, pruning should generally be avoided from April through July. Scheduling tree pruning during the dormant winter months is the safest way to maintain the health of your oaks.

What should I do if a storm damages a tree near Afton Alps?

Heavy winds can cause large limbs to fail, creating immediate hazards for structures or driveways. Our team provides professional storm cleanup, safely removing hanging branches and assessing the remaining tree for structural stability.
